Automation in manufacturing, alternative energies and space applications: take a look at the three exciting industry events that the Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC) is bringing to Silverstone Park in June and July.
All three events will be held at the Hexagon metrology facility inside the Silverstone Park Innovation Centre and are open to businesses of all sizes (start-up, micro, SME or larger organisations) to attend, gain insight and network.
First up is the STC’s Digital & Advanced Manufacturing special interest group (SIG) with its ‘Automation in Manufacturing’ event on Thursday 15 June.
With guest speakers from Total Control Pro and Beckhoff, the event will explore how automation can improve overall productivity for businesses in the context of both hardware (robotics, physical technology, machine control, additive manufacturing, etc) and software (process automation in different business areas).
Presentations and case studies will further showcase best practices and examples of how automation has been successfully implemented.

Just a week later (Thursday 22 June), the STC’s Future Mobility SIG holds its ‘Alternative Energies’ event at which expert speakers will share insights into the current landscape of alternative fuels and energy types for the transport and mobility industry.
They will also delve into latest developments in the field, explore how different fuels can be utilised in different sectors and look at technical, behavioural and cultural challenges and limitations that affect the adoption of alternative energies and how these could be addressed.

A fortnight later (Thursday 6 July), ‘Going into Space’ is the title of the STC’s Design, Simulation & Metrology SIG event which will show how, over the past decade, the space sector has impacted many parts of the UK economy, national security and daily life.
Importantly for the audience, the event will also show how space is growing and creating opportunity for businesses to potentially diversify into the sector and win funding and new contracts.
Expert speakers will provide useful insights and intelligence into space applications, satellite communications, new technologies and space manufacturing.
