Silverstone Park is playing an important role in a wider cross-county initiative between local government and academia that aims to attract global investment to the Silverstone region.
‘Silverstone 2035 Vision’ is a collaboration between Silverstone Park, Silverstone Circuit, West Northants and Buckinghamshire Councils, University of Northampton (UoN) and Whitecap Consulting.
The Silverstone Technology Cluster (Silverstone Park is its founding member) is also providing support, amongst others.
As reported by Business Times, a draft vision document is being put together showcasing the region’s innovation and attractiveness to investors, and is due to be delivered to government this quarter for the eyes of the Office of Investment and the Invest 2035 industrial policy team.
UoN associate professor Adrian Pryce, who is leading the project, commented:
“It is part of the process to get a regional coalition of support behind a Silverstone 2035 Vision so that we can lobby central government to invest part of its Industrial Strategy here.”
