Nurturing talent
Now entering its sixth year, the Silverstone Park Schools Programme inspires Year 8 and 9 students from local secondary schools into STEM careers. Its success is due to the amazing volunteers from Silverstone Park companies who take time to meet with, advise and share their experiences with students. Our partner schools include Kingsthorpe College, Sponne School and The Buckingham School.
College onsite
Two education establishments are located at Silverstone Park: The National College for Motorsport (which trains youngsters to become motorsport technicians) and the Silverstone University Technology College (where students are taught the National Curriculum plus specialist subjects). Across the Park, an increasing number of businesses are also supporting young people by investing in apprentices.
The programme gives young people an insight into the STEM careers available right on their doorstep.
Become a Silverstone Park Schools Programme business volunteer
Over the last five years, over 4,000 students have benefited from the Schools Programme, tapping into advice from businesspeople within leading technology companies based at Silverstone Park.
Volunteers visit each school to deliver industry workshops, engage in Q&A sessions and teach students tips for preparing for a job interview. Students are then invited to visit companies based at Silverstone Park to discover what goes on behind closed doors. The Silverstone Park Schools Programme is only possible thanks to the wonderful business volunteers based within companies at Silverstone Park.
