Little more than six months after it expanded into 11,000 sq ft premises at Silverstone Park, Lotus Silverstone will now become home to a new dealership for another iconic British sportscar brand, Caterham.
The business is already Lotus Cars’ second biggest dealership in Europe and also joint first in the UK in terms of new car volume and sales.
Fellow performance car manufacturer Caterham has this week confirmed it is to take advantage of the business’s Silverstone Park location to open one of two new dealerships in the UK – taking its total in the country to five.
Caterham Silverstone will sell the manufacturer’s full UK range of lightweight sportscars, as well as offering a full range of aftersales products including service, warranty and parts support.
Ahead of an official launch in April, Caterham’s Chief Executive Officer Graham Macdonald said: “As a proudly British brand, the UK market is very important to us.
“It’s our biggest market ahead of France and Japan and we want to make sure that we are serving as many of our home customers as possible.”
Lotus Silverstone’s (and now Caterham Silverstone’s) premises form part of 125,000 sq ft of industrial units constructed by Silverstone Park developer MEPC.
Completed in 2017, each unit has been successfully let to businesses locating to the estate.
Another of the companies to take advantage of the units (part of the Park’s Enterprise Zone) has been neighbour David Brown Automotive which, from inside its 18,000 sq ft building, is manufacturing two high-end niche vehicles – its Speedback ‘grand tourer’ and its own modern-day twist on another iconic British motoring model, the Mini Remastered.
