First Christmas market gets occupiers in festive spirit

18 December 2018

Silverstone Park held its first Christmas market for its business community, raising funds for mental health charity MIND along the way…

Jewellery, artwork, Christmas trees, locally brewed tipples and light refreshments plus sweet and savoury festive food were all on sale at the mini market inside the Innovation Centre.

GJ Catering also donated all £230 of proceeds from its pork and turkey rolls stall to MIND.

GJ’s Graham Waughman said: “I chose MIND as it is always underfunded and if you speak to a lot of people they know someone or they themselves have suffered from depression and/or anxiety. This will also help homeless people who often suffer from mental health problems.”

The market was the latest event for occupier businesses at Silverstone Park as part of the busy social calendar organised by the estate’s Marketing and Occupier Liaison Officer Ruth Williams.

Ruth commented: “We’ve been delighted by the Christmas market and the feedback from stall holders has been very positive, too. Some really unique Christmas gifts were available and lots of our occupier community turned out to browse and purchase.

“We have hosted over 50 business networking events and social activities for our occupiers in 2018, which recently concluded with a private viewing of a new inspiring film called General Magic and our annual occupier pizza party to celebrate Christmas the Silverstone Park way!

“The 2019 calendar of events is starting to take shape, we’ll be announcing details soon.”

In addition, Silverstone Park has contributed selection boxes, advent calendars and socks in aid of The Chocolate Elf group which makes deliveries to children, the elderly and the homeless in the Northampton region during the Christmas period.
