KTM (UK) completes move into bespoke-designed HQ at Silverstone Park

Europe’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer KTM and its Husqvarna bike brand have completed the move of their UK headquarters to new premises at Silverstone Park.

Crucially the premises include a bespoke fit-out to meet KTM’s and Husqvarna’s requirements – providing offices to handle all existing services along with a sales and marketing centre to work with a dealership network across the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.

They are located at Silverstone Park’s Buckingham Road ‘avenue’ of high-spec industrial units and offices that total 82,500 sq ft. Since acquiring these, estate developer MEPC has successfully let almost all to major companies in either motorsport or high-tech engineering.

Notably these are also adjacent to a new 125,000 sq ft speculative development by MEPC. Opposite the main entrance to the Silverstone Formula 1 circuit, this development will create 14 more industrial units ranging from 5,000 sq ft to 25,000 sq ft.

KTM’s move to Silverstone Park is a further reflection of how attractive the estate under MEPC’s management has become to OEMs seeking to raise their image, profile and ambition in the UK.

Having flown in to officially open the premises, KTM AG’s Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer commented:

“The United Kingdom is a very important market for us and, as both brands continue to expand at a rapid rate, the new facilities in the real motorsport heart of England represent and reflect our ‘Ready to Race’ values and image but, more importantly, allow us to satisfy the needs of our dealers and customers.”

Matt Walker, KTM Sportmotorcycle UK’s General Manager, said:

“These are exciting times for both brands in the UK. Significant investment has been made into giving us a facility to operate from that is in-line with our image and demonstrates KTM AG’s commitment for massive expansion. Right now there are a lot of empty desks, but by the end of 2016 we will have created a further seven positions within the company framework.”

KTM’s move to Silverstone Park comes at the same time as news of the National College for Motorsport’s expansion on the estate into new 7,500 sq ft bespoke-designed premises.
