Space hopper racing was the latest discipline to be added to Silverstone Park’s annual sports day – won by one of the high-tech business estate’s newest companies, MLL Telecoms. The fun event was the latest activity for companies on the Park to enjoy – all part of estate developer MEPC’s busy social calendar which aims to provide staff with a healthy work-life balance. In addition to space hoppers other disciplines included wheelbarrow, three-legged, sack and egg and spoon races, penalty shoot-outs, welly wanging and tug-o-war. MLL’s staff, who have just moved into new 7500 sq ft premises at the Park (see separate story), eventually emerged as 2017’s Champions under the name of ‘Team Teflon’! Second and third were Flybrid’s ‘Fliers’ and Porsche’s ‘Panthers’ respectively… “Once more our sports day achieved exactly what it is meant to – give people an opportunity to let their hair down together in a fun environment,” said Silverstone Park’s Marketing and Occupier Liaison Officer Ruth Williams who chairs the estate’s social committee. “Many congratulations to MLL for winning on their debut but 2016’s Champions Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence were not able to participate this time around and I have been told already they will be back in 2018 fully intent on reclaiming their trophy.” CLICK HERE for a picture gallery of 2017’s Silverstone Park sports day.
