New e-bikes venture adds to Park’s electric vehicle activity

Leading innovation consultancy room44 has announced a new venture, with London’s premier e-bike specialist Fully Charged, at Silverstone Park.
room44, a member of the Silverstone Technology Cluster, has moved into 1,100 sq ft premises at the business estate from which it will run a test ride centre and workshop under the Fully Charged banner.
“Teaming up with Fully Charged is hugely exciting,” commented room44 founder Tristan Allen who recently invited guests from local authorities to sample Fully Charged’s fleet of e-bikes in Silverstone Park’s grounds.
He added: “The relationship will provide the region with e-bikes from ten brands and the benefit of Fully Charged’s many years of e-bike experience.
“As a cyclist myself, I understand the transformation an e-bike can make to people’s experiences of commuting, last-mile delivery and leisure activities, and I’m thrilled to be making that accessible to more people.”
Founder and CEO of Fully Charged, Ben Jaconelli, said: “We’ve always believed in the power that e-bikes have to transform urban and campus travel and to contribute to people’s wellbeing. Fully Charged was a pioneer in this market before it was even a market, which has been a key factor in our success.”
Tristan said Silverstone Park – which is increasingly becoming a hotbed of activity in electric vehicle technologies and is at the heart of the STC region – was the ideal location for his new enterprise.
“room44 has been helping companies to anticipate market changes since 2014, and we’ve tried to lead by example when the opportunity arises,” he added.
“As an advocate for new thinking about the way we travel, room44 has made the bold move to extend its interest into making new mobility tech available, and we will be active in the regional promotion of e-bikes.”
Although branded as Fully Charged, the premises will also enable room44 to continue its work as a dedicated innovation consultancy.
Tristan continued: “There should be no confusion about the exclusive nature of this business development.
“room44 remains committed to delivering consumer-centric strategy, but we simply cannot ignore changes in the markets we work in. It’s time to step up and be involved in the development of new mobility models.”
Fully Charged COO, Dan Parsons, said: “I’ve been working with Tristan for almost a year to create the opportunity for Fully Charged to step outside the M25.
“This is the right time for us to work with enthusiastic partners like room44 and we expect our impact in the region to be rapid.
“The UK Government’s subsidies for buying e-bikes through Ride to Work schemes, and for business to benefit from grants for e-cargo bikes, make them a truly viable alternative to delivery vans in towns and cities.”
