Organisers of the Advanced Engineering Show (AES) – the UK’s largest gathering of advanced engineering professionals – say they have been bowled over by feedback from business to the event’s VIP Lounge, co-hosted by the Silverstone Technology Cluster (STC) and founding member Silverstone Park.
The STC has hosted the VIP Lounge each year since 2018 (the exception being 2020 when the AES was postponed due to the Covid situation) – it has increasingly become a ‘must-attend’ place for business networking.
Following 2021’s event last month at NEC Birmingham, the show’s organising team has praised how the STC-hosted Lounge is fulfilling visitors’ desire to meet up and potentially collaborate.
“The Silverstone Technology Cluster VIP Lounge at Advanced Engineering was bustling with activity at this year’s show and the feedback has been phenomenal,” enthused Aleiya Lonsdale, Head of Marketing, Advanced Engineering
“It’s safe to say the Lounge has become a real mainstay for the show which attracts a lot of high-level attendees.
“Innovation and networking are the bread and butter of the show and it’s brilliant that the partnership between Advanced Engineering and STC can provide a platform to facilitate both.”
She added: “The Innovation Zone for STC partners generates a lot of attention and continues to expand year on year, as new companies sign up to exhibit their innovation and find new buyers and routes to market.
“The VIP lounge with catering and additional VIP benefits provides a comfortable place away from the show floor where key attendees can meet to have those all-important business conversations.
“We are very much looking forward to continuing this valued partnership and can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store.”
MEPC’s Roz Bird, STC Chair and Commercial Director at Silverstone Park, commented: “It’s really important for us to be at AES because many of the companies based at Silverstone Park and within the STC region are there, as are their supply chain from the UK – it’s a chance to showcase all of those capabilities and their applications across many sectors.
“We love sponsoring the VIP Lounge because what we’re about is helping people to meet, develop relationships and collaborate – we can talk to people in there, introduce them and let them network.
“Sponsorship of the VIP Lounge is a must for us in the calendar as the STC and Silverstone Park. We’d certainly like to continue that sponsorship into the future as it adds value to the exhibition and works for our businesses.”
