Senior figures hail Silverstone Park as top industry event venue

The Motorsport Industry Association and Niche Vehicle Network have both praised Silverstone Park as a host for top class industry events.

Three businesses on site – David Brown Automotive, Delta Motorsport and Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence – welcomed MIA delegates during a business networking morning.

The event was supported by legal firm Blaser Mills which is based inside the estate’s Innovation Centre.

MIA Chief Executive Chris Aylett said: “The event presented an excellent insight into the development plans of this iconic business park and it was a privilege to go behind-the-scenes of three superb performance engineering companies.

“I would like to offer my personal thanks to Roz Bird and the team at Silverstone Park – superb hosts!”

Meanwhile NVN held its members forum for a fourth consecutive year inside the Silverstone University Technology College.

In addition to networking sessions the event included start-up and SME businesses pitching their products and services to a sizeable audience inside three minutes.

NVN Programme Director Dr Viv Stephens commented: “As ever this was a fantastic forum for us – in fact it was our best ever.

“We were delighted by the variety of the pitches – a number from suppliers you might think are peripheral; people from the professional services and logistics who all add value to our manufacturing base.

“As an event, this one just gets better every year, we have a deep partnership now with Silverstone Park and we have no reason to consider another venue.”

The MIA’s and NVN’s visits came towards the end of a busy calendar of business networking events, conferences and forums to be held at Silverstone Park in 2018.

This has since been concluded by a two-day conference for the ECM Test Labs Association’s (ECMTLA) work groups, plus an exclusive private screening of new cinema tech movie General Magic.

Other organisations to use the estate – a premier location for high tech business activity and development – for hosting/events in 2018 have included: EEF (Manufacturers’ Association); Precision Engineering Business Network; Barclays; Bucks Business First/BTVLEP; Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT); Silverstone Technology Cluster; Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA); Department for International Trade; EMC Tech Labs Association; Franklins LLP and MacIntyre Hudson.
