Silverstone Park shortlisted for high profile motorsport industry award

15 March 2022

MEPC Silverstone Park has been shortlisted for one of the Motorsport Industry Association’s (MIA) most prestigious awards – ‘Service to the Industry’.

Since MEPC took over management of the park, in late 2013, it has become home to an increasing number of businesses either running race teams or actively involved as part of UK motorsport’s supply chain.

MEPC’s networking events, at the park, have also enabled motorsport-orientated businesses to successfully collaborate and/or expand into other tech sectors by using their skills in advanced engineering, manufacturing, electronics and software development.

The MIA is the world’s leading trade association for the motorsport, high performance engineering, services and tuning sectors.

Roz Bird, MEPC’s Commercial Director at Silverstone Park, commented: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this prestigious MIA Award for the work we are doing at Silverstone Park.

“Over the last eight-plus years, we have worked hard to look after the companies already on site.

“We have built over 650,000 sq ft, attracting new and exciting companies, both working in motorsport and other key sectors, and are now known for delivering a strong community offering where companies can access new business opportunities.

“I am proud to have played my part in creating a place where people, and their businesses, can grow, succeed and belong, and with over 1.5m sq ft of planning consent remaining, and strong demand for accommodation at the park, the future looks very bright indeed.”

The winner of the Service to the Industry Award will be announced this Wednesday 23 March during the MIA’s Energy Efficient Motorsport Conference (EEMS) at NEC Birmingham.
