‘Unique’ kart racing simulator business Kart Sim locates to Silverstone Park premises

Case Studies / 15 Dec 2020

Motorsport simulator business, Kart Sim, has located to industrial premises at Silverstone Park to expand its unique driver coaching service in the competitive kart racing arena.

The business has fitted out its 3,100+ sq ft premises with:

  • a driving tuition simulator studio with large wrap-around screens and data analysis
  • a workshop for developing software and manufacturing its own simulators
  • an eSports/gaming lounge with five simulators (open to public)

Founder Tony Irfan commented:

“We believe we are unique in the world.

“There have been plenty of car race driver simulator facilities around for quite a few years now, but not one that is dedicated to the karting market.

“We put huge detail into modelling circuits and the software that goes with those packages (UK, Europe and now North America) with precision laser scanning of each track to recreate all the bumps, kerbs, cambers and so on.”

Notably, software developed by Kart Sim allows a driver to make ‘real life’ set-up adjustments to their kart whilst in the simulator, and also factors in the differing performance levels of karting’s numerous categories.

Tony added:

“Whilst most of our customers are from the UK, we do have overseas karters who travel to use our facilities for two days at a time – our facilities take event preparation to another level for drivers, just as simulators have in the car racing market.

“Karting is a huge market internationally; history shows that the vast majority of top name racing drivers start their careers in karting from a young age.
