Silverstone Park business occupiers are being invited to appear on the popular Inside Silverstone podcast series which has returned after an 18-month hiatus.
The podcast’s creator and host Chris Broome, also owner of Park occupier Longhurst, has produced more than 100 interviews with senior business figures since its inception in 2019.
Now he’s aiming for the 150-mark and has been joined by well-known motorsport figure Fiona Pawley as a co-host (pictured).
“The idea behind the podcast is to help promote regional businesses (and their teams) through an alternative medium,” explained Chris.
“Silverstone Park is very good at producing articles and other forms of content, and we see our podcast as an extension of that – helping people who are comfortable sharing their story to promote their business and let others within the community learn more about them.
“We enjoy hearing about how a business or career started – the genesis behind why they’re here.
“Maybe an experience as a youngster fuelled an interest or it came about through academia, or maybe they pivoted into it from something else entirely.”
Inside Silverstone’s episodes have amassed c.30,000 downloads to date – “something we’re very proud of given it’s a small, niche-focused podcast,” added Chris.
He continued: “Everybody has been a good sport and we’ve had some very funny stories from those who’ve participated before, particularly when it comes to reflecting on their biggest mistakes!
“Each interviewee receives an interview brief beforehand and they can even suggest to us what questions might be interesting to ask.”
Chris also emphasises that it’s not just technology companies or those necessarily located at the Park which can take part.
“Yes, we love our tech, but not all interviewees have to be tech-focused,” he said. “We interview anyone connected with Silverstone Park including those who are service providers such as recruitment, finance, legal, media and marketing, mentoring etc.
“In short, we’d love to hear from anyone who wants to promote their business or tell their story as a business owner.”
