Record attendance for Silverstone Park’s business occupier BBQ

Events / 27 Jul 2023

More than 300 employees from companies based at Silverstone Park attended an annual summer BBQ arranged for them by the estate’s developer MEPC.

In total, across two sittings, some 320 people turned out for the BBQ – a record number of attendees since the first event was staged in 2014.

It’s estimated that over 1,000 burgers, sausages, ice creams and soft drinks were consumed as employees gathered for the event, hosted by the Silverstone Technology University College on its stylish terrace with views of the neighbouring Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

Music from a mariachi band as well as games added to the entertainment as visitors networked over a bite.

There was even a surprise appearance by one of Lunaz’s technology-packed refuse trucks which are being ‘upcycled’ to electric power inside the company’s vast industrial premises at Silverstone Park.

Represented at the BBQ were staff from the following 28 occupiers: Actif HR; Ami-con; Applus+/3C Test; Blaser Mills; David Brown Automotive; Delta Cosworth; Digital Manufacturing Centre; Edge Tech; Enovation Ltd; FF Corse; Grand Prix Racewear; Hexagon; Kingfisher; KTM; Livewire; Longhurst; Lunaz; Match Hospitality; Motorsport Games; NITE; PUNCH Flybrid; Pro-vide; Purple Pitch; SAIETTA; Silverstone Composites; Silverstone Technology Cluster; Solid Solutions; Traffic Technology.

The BBQ is the latest event in a fun social calendar arranged by Silverstone Park for its occupiers.

Up-coming events include a sports day, quiz and fund-raising.

Silverstone Park Asset Manager Ruth Williams commented:

“We even had the sun which added to a really pleasant time for our occupiers.

“Thanks to all who attended and also to GJ Catering for providing such excellent food.

“Our social events, shaped by occupier feedback, are an essential part of the offering for companies at Silverstone Park in helping them to attract and retain the best staff.”
