STC’s Pim in ‘Strictly’ dance challenge in aid of charity

News / 22 Feb 2024

Silverstone Technology Cluster CEO Pim van Baarsen has confirmed he will take part in a local ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ style competition in aid of charity.

Pim will contest ‘Strictly Brackley’ on 23 March to raise money for Cancer Research, in memory of his mother.

He commented: “The end of January 2024 marked 15 years since my mum passed away due to the effects of cancer.

“To honour her, and the many other friends and family members that have fought or are fighting this terrible disease, I’m taking part in Strictly Brackley 2024.

“So please support me on my journey and come and watch me in the final show (it will be more slapstick comedy than dancing for me, I suspect). Your support is greatly appreciated and will help others in their fight against cancer. Thank you.”

Pim also joked: “Those who know me will know that this is not in my comfort zone. In fact, I am so far outside of it, I can’t even see it from here! May all the gods be with whomever I am partnered with and trains me.”
