Video: Debut run at Silverstone for Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s first car

News / 21 January, 2026

The Cadillac Formula 1 Team, based at Silverstone Park, has given its first F1 car a debut run – on the neighbouring Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

Sergio Perez – confirmed as one of the team’s two drivers alongside Valtteri Bottas – shook down the car during a filming session.

The car’s debut run marks a massively proud moment for the hundreds of employees inside Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s premises at Silverstone Park as well as the supply chain businesses associated with the project.

See below for a quick video of Sergio Perez giving the Cadillac Formula Team’s first F1 car its initial shakedown at Silverstone Circuit.

Graeme Lowdon, Team Principal:

“It’s been a great opportunity for the team to gel in a live garage environment, verify car systems and resolve any initial issues.

“But it’s just the beginning of the road; we now turn our attention to pre-season testing, which will provide even more opportunity to learn.”

Sergio Perez:

“Each and every person has worked so hard to get to this moment and it was emotional to be part of motorsport history.

“We can, and should, all enjoy, but it’s absolutely fired me up for more. I just want to get back in and get mileage – this is just the start.”

The countdown is now on to four more big dates in the Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s schedule:

  • 26-29 Jan: Official pre-season ‘Shakedown’ week alongside the rest of the F1 grid in Barcelona, Spain
  • 8 Feb: Reveal of the car’s official livery during Super Bowl
  • 11-20 Feb: Official pre-season testing alongside all other teams at Sakhir, Bahrain (two dates: 11-13 & 18-20 Feb)
  • 6-8 March: F1 race debut in Melbourne at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix
