Silverstone Park occupier Lunaz has reached a landmark moment with its 50th commission – and, in a surprising shift from its EV-led reputation, the project centres on a bespoke, petrol‑powered Aston Martin icon.
Since 2018, Lunaz has become globally recognised for remastering the world’s most celebrated marques with electric power.
But for this milestone commission, a long‑standing client asked the company to revisit the late-60s DB6’s original character whilst elevating it for modern use.
The majority of the work, using Lunaz’s Formula One-derived engineering expertise, will be carried out inside the company’s 30,930sq ft Silverstone Park factory.
Founder David Lorenz called the project “a watershed moment”, adding:
“We founded this company to preserve and reimagine icons.
“This commission proves that our philosophy isn’t tied to a single powertrain – it’s about doing justice to the car’s soul.”
The ‘First Edition’ DB6 series will debut in late summer 2026, marking what David describes as “the next chapter in how we serve collectors who want heritage, individuality and true craftsmanship”.
This latest project follows a series of stand-out commissions that have shaped Lunaz’s rise from its Silverstone base – from the world’s first electric Bentley and Rolls‑Royce to reimagining a Silver Cloud once owned by Hollywood star Sophia Loren and even transforming a rare two‑door Bentley Continental into a daily driver.
“Every commission pushes us further,” says David. “This DB is simply the most expressive yet.”
