Alitech Precision Parts scaling up at Silverstone Park as F1 British Grand Prix arrives

Alitech Precision Parts recently became the first company to locate to Silverstone Park’s newest industrial development – a perfectly timed step up as hundreds of thousands of fans head past its front door for this weekend’s F1 British Grand Prix on the neighbouring Silverstone Circuit.

The fast growing sub contract machining firm, led by Ben Phillips and Darren Cudd, is now pressing ahead with the fit out of its new 15,000 sq ft unit within the prime Evolve East development.

The six acre site comprises eight hybrid style, high tech industrial R&D units. Four premises have already been let or are under offer, underlining the strong demand for high spec engineering space at Silverstone Park and the momentum building around the new development.

The four still available range from 9,091 sq ft to 11,204 sq ft in size, each offering fully fitted Cat A offices, a double height HQ reception and full height loading doors.

Alitech’s expansion follows sustained demand from high performance motorsport, niche automotive and aerospace customers.

The company machines complex components in aluminium, super stainless alloys, titanium and engineering plastics, supplying four Formula 1 teams along with manufacturers in WEC/endurance racing, Dakar cross country, supercars, hypercars and the retro mod sports market.

Parts range from composite structure elements and aero components to uprights and hubs – often turned around within 24 hours.

Ben says the move has transformed the business.

“We’d outgrown our previous site. Space, security, branding, staff facilities – we needed all of it to step up.

“Being right here at Silverstone Park, next to the circuit’s main entrance and surrounded by specialist engineering companies, puts our brand exactly where it needs to be.”

Alitech has invested heavily in 5 axis HERMLE machining centres with automation for lights out manufacturing.

“Automation lets us maximise every square foot.

“The machines keep running, quality stays high and our team can focus on problem solving and craftsmanship.”

The company employs ten people, most trained in house.

“Ninety per cent of our factory team are products of Alitech training,” said Ben.

“Competition for engineering talent is fierce, so we grow our own people and our own culture.”

With the new facility now operational and the global motorsport spotlight on Silverstone this weekend, Alitech is focused on embedding efficiencies and preparing for its next phase of growth.
