Silverstone Park occupier Lola Cars has unveiled the T70S and T70S GT – modern re‑engineered evolutions of one of motorsport’s most celebrated racing cars, the original Lola T70.
The reborn T70 blends meticulous historical accuracy with cutting‑edge design, advanced materials and modern manufacturing techniques, marking a major step in Lola’s renewed era of innovation on the campus.
Much of the technical development and engineering refinement has been carried out at Lola’s base at Silverstone Park, where the team has re‑imagined the T70 using original archival drawings and high‑resolution scans to preserve the unmistakable character of the 1960s icon.
A stand-out achievement is the Lola Natural Composite System (LNCS) – a world‑first bodywork solution made entirely from plant and basalt fibres combined with a renewable resin system.
The result is a 100% petrochemical‑free composite offering superior strength, stiffness and impact damage tolerance compared with traditional GRP and carbon‑fibre materials.
Construction of the limited‑edition run of 16 cars will take place at Silverstone Park, further embedding the project within the campus’s high‑performance engineering community.
