Silverstone Park racing team FF Corse says it is determined to recapture the winner’s trophy in arguably the world’s biggest race held exclusively for Ferrari’s supercars after coming close for a second time earlier this month.

The business entered two of its 170mph 488 Challenge Evo cars for the Ferrari Challenge Europe race which supported the famous Le Mans 24 Hours in France earlier this month.

FF Corse is already acknowledged for providing the management, servicing, preparation and storage of the largest client-owned fleet of Ferrari Challenge cars in the world.

On his first visit to Le Mans, the team’s rising star driver Tom Fleming challenged the leaders before finishing the Ferrari Challenge Europe race in fifth position out of 70 competitors. His team-mate James Owen also figured strongly in the Pro-Am class.

FF Corse MD Anthony Cheshire explained:

“Nowhere in the world will you find another grid with so many Ferraris – in fact perhaps so many cars – and we were fortunate to win it in 2019 with another driver (Adam Carroll).

“This race only comes around every few years, rotating with Porsche and Aston Martin, and so of course we went there with winning it in mind.

“The team performed at an exceptionally high level against some very strong rivals who had travelled from around the world to take part.

“Whilst we couldn’t quite carry off the victory this time, all it has done is increased our desire to win it again.”

Ten personnel, including engineers and technicians, made the 1,000-mile round trip to Le Mans with both cars travelling aboard one of the team’s three impressive race transporters it also uses for national as well as overseas competition.

Development Manager Ed Barton-Hilton said:

“There’s always a fizz in the air when you arrive at Le Mans, knowing your team is part of the event, and all of us who went there could feel it – plus it was even more special this year as Ferrari were back in the main 24 Hours race and one of their cars won.

“The FF Corse name has been around for almost 15 years, so that’s maybe longer than most other Ferrari teams, and it has the trophies to back up its credibility with 13 championships and more than 200 race wins

“We won at Le Mans previously and in 2019 were also Ferrari world champions – the overseas competition certainly know who we are.”
