“Even if we hadn’t won it would still have been a fantastic evening”

Delta Cosworth has won the Silverstone Park occupiers’ annual sports day but only just after narrowly pipping a combined team from Edge Tech/S-SA Digital in a tie-breaker relay race.
After a fun, action-packed 90 minutes of welly wanging, penalty shoot-outs, plus egg and spoon, three-legged, wheelbarrow, space hopper and sack races, it was neck and neck on points between the high performance battery systems business and tech recruitment specialists.
A relay race was held to decide the outcome with Delta Cosworth’s team members coming out ahead by just a fraction of a second to collect their gold medals.
Other Silverstone Park occupiers to participate included Blaser Mills, Lunaz, MEPC/CBRE and SAIETTA. The event was managed on behalf of Silverstone Park developer MEPC by AWG Fitness in Brackley.
Delta Cosworth Rebecca Cooper, Senior Development Manager at Delta Cosworth, beamed:
“Sports day was such a laugh and I’ll definitely attend the next one. I’m not that competitive; I mainly came for the social aspect but then became surprisingly invested when the events started!
Obviously, it was wonderful celebrating with the team when we won, but even if we hadn’t won it would still have been a fantastic evening.
Rebecca added:
“A few colleagues from Delta Cosworth join the football after work (that MEPC also arrange for occupiers), and I know they enjoy that.
“On a personal note, I also really enjoyed the BBQ that was put on earlier this year, plus the smaller events in the Innovation Centre are great to pop along to – a real perk of working at Silverstone Park!”
Silverstone Park Occupier Liaison & Events Co-ordinator Kiely Nichols said:
“It was great to see so many employees from across the Park turn out for our sports day event – and enjoy the complimentary fish and chips afterwards!
“We now look forward to our next occupier events including our Macmillan Coffee Morning and bake-off (26 September) and quiz night (19 October) which one of our occupiers, Lunaz, has even kindly agreed to host.”
