Silverstone Park occupier PUNCH Flybrid’s innovations in energy efficiency technology has helped win a prestigious international industry award.
PUNCH Flybrid jointly received the Green Award with its customer Locquet Power & Light at the high-profile Matexpo at Kortrijk in Belgium, an international trade fair for industrial machinery and equipment.
Locquet was the first customer outside the UK to use the PUNCH Power 200 flywheel system, which is designed and manufactured at PUNCH Flybrid’s premises at Silverstone Park.
The PUNCH Power 200 allows operators of equipment with dynamic duty cycles to downsize their generator, enabling them to significantly reduce both CO2 emissions and costs.
Locquet has achieved success with the system over the past year on applications ranging from tower cranes to tunnel boring machines.

PUNCH Flybrid currently occupies two premises at Silverstone Park.
Its ‘green’ technology, chiefly the PUNCH Power 200, has contributed to saving millions of litres of fuel and equivalent in emissions on industrial sites in the UK, namely in construction, medical, mining, refuse and recycling, energy and off-highway.
