PUNCH Flybrid, famed for its innovations in energy storage technology at Silverstone Park, has undergone a rebrand and will now be known as Dumarey Flybrid.

The name change coincides with Dumarey-owned PUNCH reaching 40 years of innovation, going from a punched metal business into an independent supplier for the development, integration and manufacturing of competitions solutions in powertrains.

Its Flybrid business currently employs 40 people at its two premises at Silverstone Park which combined total 9,500 sq ft of workshops, storage facilities and office space.

From these units, the company designs, assembles and distributes cutting edge energy storage and management systems for industrial applications.

Guido Dumarey, Founder and President of the Belgian-based Dumarey Group, commented: “It is with immense pride that we begin this new stage in our history, marked by our 40th anniversary, united and sharing the same values.

“Changing the name of our group is a key element in achieving our vision. Together, we will advance our technological expertise in the field of hydrogen and electric propulsion technologies to help achieve our common goal of reducing the planet’s greenhouse gases.”

Tobias Knichel, Managing Director, Dumarey Flybrid (pictured), said: “The Dumarey Group shares a common vision, a future where sustainable mobility will be accessible to all.

“Dumarey Flybrid are a key part of this journey, providing energy recovery and management systems to aid decarbonisation efforts in both on-road and off-road machinery.

“In the coming months we intend to grow our customer base internationally, as well as expanding our product offerings. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead of us as part of the Dumarey Group.”
