Silverstone Park shortlisted for prestigious MIA Business Excellence Award

News / 8 October, 2025

Silverstone Park has been shortlisted for one of the Motorsport Industry Association’s (MIA) prestigious Business Excellence Awards.

The Park is one of just three businesses nominated for the Service to the Industry (Motorsport) award at next week’s (15 October) glamorous annual ceremony.

Recognition from the MIA is nothing new for Silverstone Park – in 2023, two Park-based businesses were award winners.

A significant number of the 90 companies based at Silverstone Park operate directly within motorsport. Many specialise in advanced engineering, manufacturing, and software development, playing a critical role in Formula 1™ and the wider motorsport supply chain.

The Cadillac Formula 1 Team, set to join the F1 grid in 2026, has chosen Silverstone Park for its UK headquarters.

Hitech GP’s race-winning FIA F2 and F3 teams are also managed from the Park. Leading FIA Formula E teams – Envision Racing, Kiro Race Co, and Lola – as well as Ferrari GT specialists AF Corse and FF Corse, also operate on-site.

In addition, the Park is home to the National College for Motorsport, many of whose alumni have progressed to senior technician roles at the highest levels of the sport.

It also maintains close links with the neighbouring Silverstone University Technical College, which specialises in engineering and electronics and prepares students for careers in motorsport. All this sits alongside the world-famous Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.

Silverstone Park’s strategic location within the Silverstone Technology Cluster places it at the heart of the UK’s fabled ‘Motorsport Valley®’ – home to over 4,300 motorsport and high-performance engineering companies, employing more than 50,000 people and generating an annual turnover of around £16 billion, according to an MIA report published earlier this year.

This makes Motorsport Valley one of the largest and most influential motorsport hubs in the world.
