Silverstone Park office could lead to purple patch for Purple Pitch PR agency

Apart from enjoying working for clients in a variety of sectors – from policing to travel and tourism – PR and communications agency Purple Pitch founder Michelle Nichols says locating her business to Silverstone Park has also been positive for motivation.
With 25 years’ PR experience in the private and public sectors (she was previously head of communications for both Thames Valley Police and Network Rail), Michelle founded Purple Pitch in 2018 and, until autumn last year, had run the business from her home.
Michelle said:
“Then the office in the Innovation Centre came up and it was like it was meant to be!
“I love my Formula 1 and, whilst working from home works, I was feeling the need to grow the business – and my colleague Tracy Roberts was working from her dining room table!
The benefits have been immediate – we’ve got much better internet compared to home and, by sitting opposite, we’ve been able to work more creatively, face-to-face.
A creative approach is essential as Michelle and Tracy carefully piece together plans major events, content and strategy for clients – predominantly the National Police Chiefs Council’s national cyber-crime programme or the Largo Leisure’s group of holiday parks.
“One day we can be organising a big conference in Birmingham for national policing and, the next, brainstorming content to engage with customers to sell holiday breaks,” said Michelle.
“I love the variety that PR can bring. No two days are the same.”
Purple Pitch has also attracted a business that helps neurodivergent business owners who struggle with organisation and running their companies.
Michelle added: “I want to grow the business and this year I intend focusing on raising our profile and attracting new business – an office gives us an environment for clearer thinking.
“Genuinely, I’d got it into my head that I never needed an office, but as soon as we moved to the Innovation Centre I realised how much I miss an office environment.
“Having people about, bumping into people in the corridor and chatting is really helpful and it’s given me an added motivation – I have a reason to get in the car in the morning and go somewhere… and it’s a very iconic place to be going to!”
