Christmas lunch and market complete 2023’s occupier events

A Christmas lunch has completed MEPC’s 2023 social events calendar for occupiers at its Silverstone Park development.

More than 100 employees from companies located at the Park mingled and networked over the informal lunch which served up chillis and hotdogs.

The lunch followed an indoor Christmas market for occupiers, supported by niche local traders specialising in festive paraphernalia such as cards, decorations and stocking fillers.

Traders included Brownie Boss, Elizabeth’s Cards, Estrella Jewellery, Hygge Confectionery, Little Felt Bird, Sherlocks Engraved Gifts and Towcester Mill Brewery. Meanwhile, Beki Eastwood, a management accountant with Innovation Centre occupier SiSTEM Technology, won a hamper in a draw arranged by youth charity Action4Youth.

Food for both the Christmas lunch and market (pulled pork rolls) was prepared and delivered by GJ Catering.

The market had been preceded by a general knowledge quiz, kindly hosted by occupier Lunaz inside its Silverstone Park premises. More than 60 people attended the quiz, won by another Innovation Centre occupier, TriMech.

Elsewhere, yoga classes arranged by MEPC, enabling occupiers to relax and keep fit together, have also proved popular.

In September, occupiers participated in a fun bake-off in support of MEPC’s Macmillan Coffee Morning – one of thousands held nationally in aid of the charity. The event raised some £255.00

Occupiers then donned a splash of pink to their workplace in October to help raise awareness of charity Breast Cancer Now’s national ‘Wear It Pink’ awareness campaign, towards which they also kindly donated £60.

“We’ve had great fun with our occupiers in 2023 with other events such as our summer BBQ and sports day for them,” said Silverstone Park Occupier Liaison and Events Co-ordinator Kiely Nichols.

“All the events and activities we arrange are in consultation with the occupiers and designed to help them attract and retain the best people – as well as encourage people to get to know their neighbours.

“We look forward to organising many more events in 2024.”
