Business to business at Silverstone Park
Some of the biggest industry bodies in high-tech engineering and manufacturing take advantage of Silverstone Park’s profile and facilities to hold key networking events and forums.
These include: Niche Vehicle Network; Cambridge Wireless; Society for Motor Manufacturers & Traders; Make UK; Silverstone Technology Cluster; IMechE, MIPAA; etc.
Central & local government
Silverstone Park’s pro-active approach to business development has also attracted central and local government activity.
The Department of International Trade (DIT)’s Export Hub has visited several times – drawing both the local and wider business communities.
The Park has also played an important part of BTVLEP’s, SEMLEP’s and Bucks Business First’s tours of the region with business delegates from overseas including Canada, China, mainland Europe, India, Japan, South Korea and USA.
Local Business Networking
Silverstone Park developer MEPC arranges networking sessions for local business clubs and forums inside the estate’s Innovation Centre.
These events prove valuable for businesses who have not had their own bespoke networking events for some time. It also enables them to be brought right up to date with developments at Silverstone Park and within the surrounding Silverstone Technology Cluster.
Silverstone Park Networking
Silverstone Park's own networking events are free to attend for start-up and SME businesses right across the high-tech and professional services spectrum.
Events attract prominent guest speakers (chiefly from high-tech sectors) and offer those present an opportunity to participate in Q&A sessions and network over food and drinks. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to book places.
Speakers have included Kieron Salter (MD of award winning KW Special Projects), Chris Horton (director of Park based engineering consultancy Performance Projects), Dr Claire Elliott (National Physical Laboratory), Formula 1 team Red Bull Racing, former Lockheed Martin UK CEO Stephen Ball, Simon Holloway (Commercial Director, RML) and fellow renowned engineer Sally Povolotsky… READ MORE
Many occupiers take advantage of the networking gatherings at the Silverstone Park Innovation Centre, hosted by MEPC.
People from a large cross-section of companies interact with one another at the events (coffee mornings to pizza lunches) to create business opportunities.
SENIOR TEAM LUNCHES
Roz Bird, MEPC’s Commercial Director at Silverstone Park, regularly hosts ‘Senior Team Lunches’.
These are for invited senior representatives from the Park’s business community who meet informally to share stories and discuss potential synergies.
What Makes Silverstone Special?
The ‘What Makes Silverstone Special?’ Conference was held on Thursday 31 October 2013 at The Wing, Silverstone Circuit.
Hosted by MEPC, the event served to bring all stakeholders together to consider their role and the part they can play in the development and realisation of the Silverstone Park vision. Watch the event video here.
