MEPC’s speculative build of 14 high-end industrial units across a 125,000 sq ft development at Silverstone Park is on schedule for completion by the end of the year and also attracting plenty of interest from potential occupiers.
Construction of four properties opposite the entrance to the Silverstone Formula 1 circuit began in May.
These consist of two self-contained units and two terraces and will offer companies the flexibility of being able to develop their own HQ style-premises in landscaped surroundings at Silverstone Park – the buzzing global business destination for the high-tech engineering and motorsport sectors.
The units’ address will be known as 1116-1129, Silverstone Park and arranged as follows:
– Self-contained/Unit 1 – 1116 (18,000 sq ft)
– Self-contained/Unit 14 – 1129 (25,000 sq ft)
– Terraces/Units 2-9 – 1117-1124
– Terraces/Units 10-13 – 1125-1128
Units 2-9 range in size with four at 5,000 sq ft, three at 7,000 sq ft and a further one at 11,000 sq ft with the option to remove walls and extend.
Numbers 10-13 consist of two 15,000 sq ft units with the option of these being opened up to create one larger 30,000 sq ft unit or even split into four smaller premises.
Ben Leafield, MEPC’s Senior Development Manager, commented: “External cladding for all the units is now substantially complete with curtain walling and windows also making good progress. The internal mezzanines have been completed.
“The next steps are installation of gas, electricity and water and roller shutter doors to all properties.
“The rate of construction with our appointed contractor, Readie, continues to be excellent.”
