KW Special Projects has become the first business to officially receive keys to one of the seven new detached industrial premises constructed by MEPC at Silverstone Park.
With direct access to the 20,000 sq ft property, KWSP can commence creating a world-class Digital Manufacturing Centre (DMC) facility. This includes fitting it out and preparing the diverse array of connected additive manufacturing technologies.
MEPC Chief Executive James Dipple commented: “Today marks an important milestone in the development of the DMC and I’m delighted to hand over the keys to this new facility.
“I look forward to seeing the DMC’s official launch in Spring 2021.”
KWSP Founder and DMC Chief Executive Kieron Salter, enthused: “Holding the keys to this impressive building is quite a privilege. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication our team has already put in, but now the real fun begins.
“Over the next few months, we will turn this empty building into one of the most advanced production facilities in the country, leading British manufacturing into and beyond the fourth industrial revolution.”
The DMC will become the fourth specialist advanced engineering facility at Silverstone Park, adding to those in aerodynamics, electronics and metrology.
KWSP’s DMC property is one of 13 spacious new HQ-style industrial units constructed by MEPC as part of its Phase 1 and Phase 2 of development at Silverstone Park; combined, the properties – seven detached and six terraced properties – provide a total of 258,000 sq ft of floor space.
Nine of the properties have already been taken by businesses, leaving just four available to let.
